Getting ready: Claiming stream

All artists will be provided with a list containing anonymized fic details two days prior to the survey going live.

This includes:
• summaries
• ships
• ratings
• author's preferences of style/substance (if any)

Claiming

Timeline: May 30 to June 1, 2023

Claims will open at 17:00/5:00 PM UTC time [check your time here]

An email containing the link to the survey will be sent out.

Claims are not going to be on a first come, first served basis.

We will be using matchmaker to record and organize everyone's choices - and allows for artists to rank the fics they want to work on, as well as indicate any fics that they do not wish to engage.

You may end up ranking multiple fics, you may end up choosing none. Not picking a fic simply means that you no longer wish to participate, and that's cool too. We do ask that you try to rank a minimum of [placeholder*] fics as Matchmaker works best when given more choices.

Depending on the number of authors and artists at the time of claims, there may also be a chance that artists may have the choice of working on more than one fic. That is optional - and will depend on how much an artist thinks they can take on, as they will have to meet the minimum requirements of works for both fics.

Getting ready - Partnership stream

For authors, we still expect to have the same information provided to us, but we won't include it in the list of anonymized fics that is provided.

This includes:
• summaries
• ships
• ratings
• author's preferences of style/substance (if any)

For artists, let a mod know that you're still participating. This is when you get to fully see what your author partner~~-in-crime~~ has been up to, though you may have been talking about it earlier.

You won't be provided a list of fic info/summaries during this time.

Exceptions:

Should something happen over the course of the big bang and someone has to drop out, you're welcome to continue with the bang in the non-partnered stream.

For writers, that means we will ask the participating artists if they can pinch hit, or if it's within the claims period - to add it to the list of anonymized fics available to all artist participants.

For artists, that means you can submit a claim for the works on the list.

Pinch hitting/secondary claims

In the case that we end up with more authors than artists at the time of claims, it is possible that some artists may choose to take on another big bang project over the course of the challenge. This is voluntary, and will require artists to complete a minimum to two other pieces based on a different work. We will also contact people who have expressed an interest in pinch hitting.

Information on all remaining unmatched fics will be made available to them and they can select from there, and it is not considered a commitment unless a selection is made by the artist in question.

Later matches may have decreased art requirements, as that depends on the amount of time remaining until posting.
